About Our Support Group

This is a support group for people with ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelopathy/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and Fibromyalgia. Our group meets on the

3rd Thursday of each month, 7:00-9:00 PM at
Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210

Use the first driveway entrance coming from Fairview  Road. Then look for the separate brick building beyond the parking lot (Charles Little Activity Building). We meet in the Parlor. Look for signs on the building door and the room door.

Our meetings are facilitated by Kebbie Cannon , and  by Dr. Charles Lapp of the Hunter-Hopkins Center.

The structure of our meetings is as follows:
7:00 - 7:15 PM Announcements
7:15 - 8:15 PM Speaker/Facilitated Discussions
8:15 - 9:00 PM Sharing Time (Q&A, refreshments, etc.)

Meeting size varies from 10 to 30 on average.

Meeting Schedule

The proposed schedule for 2011-2012 is:

• December 15 --  Christmas Party!  

• January 19, 2012 -- Open Forum.  Bring your questions and concerns to the group! 

• February 16  -- Melanie Riley will describe Vestibular Therapy for dizziness

• March 15 -- Massage therapy and aromatherapy with Jesse Peach

• April 19 -- Caregiver's Meeting, guided by Dr. Lapp.  Bring your spouse or caregiver and discuss issues that affect you both.

• May 17 -- Recent CFS Videos on our "big screen"

• June 21 -- Attorney George Piemonte, the Action Advocate, will discuss disability issues and answer your  questions

• July 19 -- Luncheon at Panera's, Carme and Pineville-Matthews Roads

• August 16-- Luncheon at Panera's, Matthews
